The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick, and his newest gal, Molly, appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show Friday. Jason apologized to fans and says he regrets telling Melissa about Molly on the After the Final Rose show. Molly joined Jason a little later for a very short segment, in which she said this should be the happiest time of their lives but the negative backlash makes it difficult for them to enjoy their relationship. Ellen tells them she’s sure it will either bring them closer or ultimately split them up. Most likely, the latter.

Melissa Rycroft appears on The Ellen Degeneres Show to share her side of the story. When asked why she thought Jason was seeing Molly, Melissa responded:
“I think, first being a girl you get that feeling. Anybody that’s been cheated on, you know, and being a woman, I got that feeling because he just backed away from me and I knew he had contacted her. I know there had been at least one contact that I knew about where he was ‘checking on her’ and so it was just in the back of my mind,” Rycroft admitted. “I would just casually ask, ‘Are you talking to her? Have you talked to her? Tell me, just be honest of what I’m asking you.’”
When asked if she’ll ever be friends with Jason or Molly, Melissa says,
“Jason and Molly don’t quite have the characteristics of someone I would want to be friends with,” Rycroft said. “On a level they both did betray me. I understand it was a break-up and I’m not mad about that. We all get broken up with, but to be lied to?”

Melissa Rycroft was dumped in front of millions this week as Jason Mesnick changed his mind about his final rose pick. Melissa chose not to be on the final rose part two episode and sent a letter instead. ABC released the statement in full this week:
“Although I could not be here, I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive throughout this process. This has been such an overwhelming experience, and I really do appreciate the support system behind me. This was definitely one of those experiences that changes your life, and makes you so much more aware of who you are and what you want out of life. Strange as it may sound, I am doing really well.”
“I’m back in Dallas, pursuing the teaching thing, and attempting to get my life back to normal (if it was every really normal to begin with). I still have my same life mottos: Live life with no regrets, and keep smiling no matter what happens. I’m in such a good place in my life right now, and I really couldn’t be happier,” she continued. “I don’t regret anything that happened over the past few months; because I know I wouldn’t be where I am today had none of it happened,” she said in the statement.
“I have, however, decided to move on from my reality television days, and get some sense of normalcy back to my life.” “As wonderful of an experience as The Bachelorette would be, I think it’s time for me to move on from my television days, and see what my future holds back in Dallas. I have no doubt it will be an amazing experience for whoever assumes the role, and I wish them the best of luck! “

The Bachelor drama continues with post show interviews by Jason Mesnick, who just doesn’t seem to keep his story consistent. He’s been quoted as saying he had to break up with Melissa Rycroft on camera to saying he actually broke up with her before the After the Final Rose episode. Some post show interviews were initally postponed, with the exception of the Jimmy Kimmel appearance, where Kimmel raked Mesnick over the coals about his fickle attitude. Now, Jason and Molly appear to be doing what some are calling the apology tour for not handling things with more tact. Jason and Molly claim to be happy and probably will be for at least as long as their contracts tell them they have to be.
Here’s Jason’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. where Kimmel asks him if he has the other contestants phone numbers just in case he changes his mind again.
Here’s a less combative interview with Jason and Molly talking about their favorite places in New Zealand:
Jason claims to have had to break up with Melissa on camera due to his contractual obligation, however, show creator Mike Fleiss says Jason absolutely did not have to do so . Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelor, says doing the After the Rose Show, was the most difficult show he’s ever had to do and he feels Jason made his bed all by himself. The producers claim there was no script, nor was Jason asked to pick Melissa and then dump her for ratings. Although Melissa said in her interview with Ellen Degeneres that Jason lost interest in her almost immediately, which certainly fits with the ’scripted’ theory. Jason apologized during his Ellen appearance for the way he handled things.
Melissa has moved on from the incident and says she has no regrets. She is now seeing a new guy or not so new, as they have known each other for awhile, named Ty.
Jillian Harris was chosen as the new Bachelorette after both Molly and Melissa were considered. Melissa turned down the offer and is hoping to move on with her life. Jillian may wish she had done the same as this show seems to take people who are loved by America and somehow turn them into the most hated reality tv stars ever. Jillian says she hopes she picks the right person the first time. (is that a dig?)
More Jason Mesnick interviews coming up soon.

Spoilers ahead:
Bonnie Hunt makes her prediction of the winner of The Bachelor and has the same prediction as most everyone around the web has:
On tonight’s episode of The Bachelor, one girl decides to eliminate herself. Rumor has it Raquel is the one to leave on her own. Five girls will go withouth any date time tonight, which is a huge disadvantage. Expected to go on the Robin Thicke date is Jillian, while Melissa is the choice for the blimp date on tonight’s show.
The Bachelor sleuthers have been hard at work even before the show aired working on the elimination order of the bachelorettes and looking for clues to the final two contestants and of course, the winner.
All the Bachelor boards (message board links are listed below) seem to have come to the same conclusion in figuring out the winner of this season. Melissa is the pick of the posters based on a variety of screen caps, leaked information and more. Melissa was the one most boards picked as the winner even before the episodes started to air.
Deanna Pappas, the Bachelorette who dumped Jason last season, will show up later this season to give advice, despite the previews that make it look like she’s returned to reconnect with Jason.
The final two are rumored to be Melissa and Molly. Molly is a department store buyer from Grand Rapids, Michigan and Melissa is a Sales Rep from Dallas, Texas and a former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.
