Survivor Gabon Recap

Published by realitytv under Reality TV Edit This

Tonight on Survivor, the tribes finally merged but not before a little reward challenge fun. The reward challenge on tonight’s episode of Survivor Gabon was ‘golf with slingshots’.  Winner of the reward challenge was the Fang tribe. They had to pick one person from the Kota tribe to go to Exile Island. They decided to send Bob. Corrine, who is aligned with Bob even though they are on opposite tribes at the moment, wished him good luck and told him she hoped he found the hidden immunity idol while he was there. Corrine doesn’t know Sugar has the hidden immunity idol. The only people who do know that are Matty, Kenny and Crystal. (mostly because Crystal went through Sugar’s belongings earlier in the game)

While the Fang tribe enjoyed a fancy feast, a tribal shower and some dancing on their reward challenge, Bob started his own journey looking for the hidden immunity idol. When he couldn’t find it, he decided to make a fake immunity idol and make people think he had found it, hoping to give him some leverage in the game. Of all the fake immunity idols ever made in the history of Survivor, I must say Bob’s idol was very impressive. It looked like it could actually fool a few people.

Fast forward to the immunity challenge—when the tribes showed up to compete for what they thought was tribal immunity they found out they were merging into one tribe and individual immunity was up for grabs. The immunity challenge was ‘who can make a fire and burn through a rope the fastest.’ Surprising the only two people able to start a fire were Sugar and Susie. Susie won the immunity idol and is safe from elimination.

Back at the new merged tribe camp, which they decided to call nobag (backwards Gabon), everyone worked to find their place in an alliance. Kenny talked his alliance of Crystal, Susie and Matty into believing that Charlie is the ‘brains behind everything Kota’ and convinced them to vote for him. Meanwhile, Randy wanted his alliance, which consists of Corinne, Charlie and Bob to vote out Crystal as Randy says there is no way he and Crystal can live together.

This leaves Sugar as the swing vote and both sides worked very hard to get her to vote with them. While we didn’t see it, I would suspect that Matty talked to Sugar, as they were very close last week, and had something to do convincing her to vote with his group.

Sugar did vote out Charlie along with Kenny, Matty, Susie and Crystal making it a 5-4 vote. (the other four votes went to Crystal) Charlie seemed shocked and said in his last words that he was completely blindsided.
