Dancing with the Stars Recap

Published by realitytv under Reality TV, dwts Edit This

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the final five celebrities—Lance Bass, Brooke Burke, (I wonder if she is related to Cheryl Burke?), Cody Linley, Maurice Green and Warren Sapp —gave it their best shot to make it to the semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars next week.

First on the dance floor for the ballroom round was Cody and his fill-in partner, Edyta, dancing the foxtrot. The judges enjoyed the performance for the most part. Bruno said it was his most grown-up performance to date on the show. The total score for this dance was a 24. All judges gave Cody and eight for his foxtrot performance. (Note: Julianne Hough will be returning to the show to join Cody tonight; this was his last dance with Edyta)

Next up was Brooke and Derek dancing the Tango. Len was extremely hard on Brooke Burke in this round and seemed extra nitpicky, even for him. It seemed incredibly unfair, especially in his critique of the other contestants who did not dance to Brooke’s standards. Len says he’s judging Brooke as he would a professional. Again, not fair, as she has not had any dance lessons. The total score for Brooke and Derek in this round was a 28. Bruno and Carrie Ann gave the couple perfect tens.

Maurice and Cheryl danced the quickstep and to everyone’s surprise, Maurice actually did very well. He has been very stiff in the past, especially with ballroom dances. The total score for their tango was a 24, which is the average score for them most of the time.

Lance and Lacey took the dance floor with the foxtrot. They wanted to impress Len this time so they stuck to the traditional routine of the foxtrot. Len, however, still scored them lower than Bruno or Carrie Ann did. It’s obvious Len does not want this couple to win Dancing with the Stars. Maybe because Lacey isn’t a ballroom professional? Their total score for the ballroom round was a 26.

Last up in the ballroom round was Warren and Kim. Warren appeared very upset that he hasn’t received good scores last week and felt he had something to prove. They danced the tango and received a score of 28. I guess he proved he deserves to be there. Warren is an obvious audience favorite.

During the Latin round of dancing, each celebrity had to dance 15 seconds alone. It worked well for some and for others like Cody, it highlighted some weaknesses. Cody and Edyta received a score of 24 for their latin routine. Their total score for the night was 48, leaving them in a tie for last place.

Other scores were:

Brooke and Derek: 27 points for Latin round: 55 points total

Maurice and Cheryl: 24 points for Latin round: 48 points total (tie for last place)

Lance and Lacey: 24 points for Latin round: 50 points total

Warren and Kim: 26 points for Latin round (seriously that was way too much): 54 points total.

Tonight they will eliminate one of these couples on Dancing with the Stars. Most likely, it will be Maurice and Cheryl as many Julianne fans will be voting to keep Cody in the competition so they can see her back on the show.
