American Idol winner and fan favorite, Carrie Underwood, will be hosting this year’s CMA awards along with Brad Paisley. Underwood and Paisley are the reigning female and male vocalists from last year. Scheduled to appear on the show Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.
Carrie’s excited about hosting the 42 annual CMA Awards telling OK Magazine, ” “I am so excited to host a show I grew up watching, and am so thrilled to spend this night with the fans and Brad,” adds Carrie, nominated for two awards. “It’s going to be a party”

Former American Idol contestant, Kellie Pickler, literally slides down to chat with Bonnie Hunt. Kellie says American Idol took very good care of her when she was on the reality show. She talks about being a waitress at Sonic before going on Idol and how it changed her life. It took her some time to adjust to being recognized. Before American Idol, Kellie had never flown before so everything was extremely new to her. She also talks about her family issues and how her Mom has not been present in her life. She speaks highly of her grandparents, who raised her, and how she identifies with people who were also raised by their grandparents. She talks about the depression she’s experienced in her life and how grateful she is to be where she is now.
Pickler is scheduled to help Ryan Seacrest host the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show this year. Should be fun!
