Dancing with the Stars took a new twist tonight with the dancers. The remaining six couples not only danced an individual dance, but also were teamed up with other dancers to perform a dance together. The ‘team dance’ was scored and added to the couples individual scores.
Before we get to the team dancing, let’s recap the couples individual performances. First on the dance floor tonight was Warren and Kim, dancing the foxtrot. I thought Warren would do really well, but he fell a bit flat with the judges. Len said it just wasn’t one of his better dances. Carrie Ann asked him what the problem was and he told her he had the wrong shoes on tonight. His scores from all three judges were 7’s, giving him a 21 for his first dance.
Next on the dance floor was Susan Lucci and Tony, who danced the Paso. In my opinion, Susan had no power at all in that dance, especially though the legs, but the judges thought otherwise and gave her a total score of 24. They were followed by Maurice and Cheryl dancing the cha cha cha. Their score was a 25, putting them in the lead for the moment.
The next dancers on the floor were Cody and Edyta. Edyta is filling in for Julianne Hough, who is recovering from surgery. Cody had trouble with the waltz and hadn’t quite connected well with Edyta just yet and received a score of 22.
Lance Bass and Lacey were next and danced the rhumba barefoot. Carrie and Bruno loved the idea and loved the dance, while grouchy Len hated it and said he just didn’t get it at all. It figures! They received a score of 25, tying with Maurice and Cheryl.
Last but not least were Brooke and Derek, who danced the foxtrot beautifully and received the first perfect score of 30 for this season of Dancing with the Stars.
Teams were Team Cha Cha, which was made up of Lance, Lacey, Cody, Edyta, Susan and Tony. It was just really bad. The unison in the group was not there at all. The only two that shined were Lance and Lacey. The team score was a very low 20.
The other team was Team Paso made up of Brooke, Derek, Cheryl, Maurice, Kim and Warren. They rocked it out like there was no tomorrow. They blew the other team away with a score of 29.
The team scores are added to their individual performance scores, so that leaves Derek and Brooke in the lead with 59 total points, while Cody and Edyta find themselves at the bottom of the list with a score of 42.
Dancing with the Stars results show will be on Wednesday this week due to the election coverage tomorrow.
